Spearmint Smoothie for PCOS | Fertility Naturopath

Did you know that spearmint is another amazing herb proven to lower androgens? Paired with flax seeds (which have phytoestrogenic properties), these two agents can help balance out hormonal issues involved with PCOS. PMID: 32197626 & PMID: 19585478.

Incorporating spearmint into your daily routine can be easy through a few cups of tea. But I thought a spearmint smoothie might liven things up, especially because this is an easy way to add in flax, too.

Ingredients:

1 cup spearmint tea brewed with 2 tea bags

A few sprigs fresh peppermint (or spearmint if you can find it)

1 scoop vanilla protein powder

2 handfuls fresh kale, ribs removed

1/2 cucumber

1/2 green apple

1/2 cup ice cubes

1/2 avocado

1 Tbsp flax seeds
