Timing Intercourse/Insemination for Conception

Timing intercourse or at-home insemination is very important.

An egg once ovulated only survives for 24hr. It can be fertilized for about 12 of those hours.

That is why intercourse/at-home insemination before ovulation is key. Sperm can live for up to 5 days after ejaculation/insemination. It’s ideal to ensure the sperm are present in the uterus and fallopian tubes waiting for the egg to arrive.

As soon as you notice more slippery cervical mucus as well as a temperature rise, you can start to time intercourse every day or at a minimum every other day until the temperature rise stops and the temp stays elevated (that should be roughly 4 days).
